how can i clean plugged caulk nozzles?
To enforce caulk in hard to range places, such as behind a toilet, push a piece of 1/4″ I.D. (deep down diameter) clear flexible plastic tube (available at home centers) over the end of the caulking vacuum tube nozzle. Position the end of the tubing where you want the caulking, and squeeze the trigger until the caulk comes out.
When you'ray finished caulk, remove the tube from the caulking tube nozzle, insert a 1/4″ diameter wooden dowel in one remnant of the pipe, and promote the dowel pin through the tube to remove the caulking so the tube arse be used again.

Joe Truini: Caulking around a bathroom is a simple adequate job until you need to calk around the backrest of the toilet. Because the distance is so restricted, there's no way to easy get the snoot of the caulking gun back behind the toilet. So here's the pull a fast one on.
Go unconscious and nab a roll of tube. This is clear tubing. It's 1/4″ inside diam—that's what you want, the inside diameter. And cut off a piece perchance 8 to 10 inches long. And then just wedge it onto the end of the caulking cartridge—right on the nozzle—put it on nice and air-tight. At that place you go. Rightful like that.
Straight off, you've a nice flexible tube that allows you to deliver caulking exactly where you need information technology. Just squeeze some through, here information technology comes. See that? Nice and easily, right through.
Once you get under one's skin to the end of the tube, then you can apply it where you need IT, back behind the toilet. Here information technology comes. Take this, it reaches totally the elbow room around.
Now, IT won't Be too refined, because you can't really see what you're doing, but it comes out real easy. Then you can rejoin later and bed covering information technology with your finger. And once you get out here, you know, you can draw off the tubing and just apply it with the caulking gun.
Now, if you want to reprocess the tube, which is a good idea, all you need to do is turn around a length of wooden dowel that's about the same size every bit the inside diam—therein case, again, it's 1/4 inch.
Just push it through. Fairly out well-nig of it. You're not loss to get it all out, but you get most of it out. There you go. Now you can reuse it for your next caulking job.
